    Dough-It Yourself Christmas Decorations

    First you need:

    2 cups all-purpose flour (not self-rising)
    1 cup salt
    1 cup water
    Food coloring (optional)

Combine flour and salt in bowl. Form a ball by mixing in a little water at a time. If you want colored ornaments add food coloring to the dough. Knead dough until it has a smooth firm consistency, about 7-10 minutes. Add a little more water if necessary.

Roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick. Use Christmas shaped cookie cutters to make shapes. Make a small hole in the top of the ornament (use a straw or something similar) for the thread to hang. Bake on foil covered cookie sheet at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool. You can then paint the ornaments with water color, acrylic enamel and varnish for a lasting finish.

Hang on tree with yarn or thread!
