Very Cheap Homemade Carpet Cleaning Products

Carpet cleaning solution and spot remover can be very expensive. However, to extend the life of your carpet, these products are necessary. Did you know you don't have to purchase them from the store? That's right, 3 inexpensive ingredients that you should already have on hand will clean and freshen your carpets just as good as the expensive stuff you get at the store.  

What you need:

White Vinegar

Baking Soda

Water

If you have some spots that need removed before you steam clean, try this.

Mix some baking soda with white vinegar to make into a paste. Scrub into the stain. Let it dry, then vacuum up the dry baking soda. If it is a bad stain, it might need to be treated again.

To make a solution for a carpet cleaning machine mix equal parts hot water and white vinegar. Use machine as directed.

This makes a cheap cleaner that works really well. It sanitizes, deodorizes and is kid/pet friendly. Try it once and you will never buy carpet cleaning products from the store again.

*Test on a small area of the carpet first.

Cheap Homemade Glass Cleaner

I have been experimenting over the last year with a lot of different homemade household products and wanted to share a great one I have found. Try it once and you will never want to use anything else.

Homemade Glass Cleaner

Mix together 1 cup of water, 1 cup of rubbing alcohol and 2 Tbsp of white vinegar

Use a funnel to pour into a spray bottle, shake and clean some glass!

Inexpensive Fabric Softener~Use Vinegar

Did you know that you can use vinegar in place of fabric softener? Yip, vinegar. I have to say, the thought of my clothes, towels and such smelling like vinegar scared me away from this idea for quite some time. Then I decided to give it a whirl. Guess what? IT WORKS! Not only is it a much cheaper alternative than commercial fabric softeners, it is also natural and chemical free.  AND it keeps new towels feeling new!

Just add 3/4 of a cup of white vinegar to your rinse cycle. If you have a fabric dispensing ball, that will work as well.

Vinegar will remove soap residue from your laundry, soften your laundry, eliminate static cling and best of all, save you money!

*TIP* Although it isn't needed, you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance.

Try it~If you hate it, just don't do it again :)
